FRESH BLOOD: featuring emerging choreographers
presented by The Chimera Project
in association with Harbourfront Centre

FRESH BLOOD is interested in featuring interesting, innovative and surprising works by emerging Canadian choreographers in any dance form. Now in its second year, the performance will take place at Enwave Theatre, Harbourfront Centre - Toronto's partner in presenting cutting-edge, current dance for over 30 years.

One choreographer will be chosen to receive the Paula Citron FRESH BLOOD Award in the amount of $300 in recognition of their outstanding artistry. Last year's recipient was Erin Cowan.

A performance honorarium for choreographers is conditional on successful funding received by the company. All choreographers will receive a professional DVD of their piece.

Choreographers who participated in FRESH BLOOD last year are welcome to apply again this year.

Requirements

Emerging choreographers, companies or collectives with under 5 years of professional choreographic experience

Works must be innovative - any dance form and/or style is eligible and encouraged

Pieces must be under 5 minutes in length

Work must have minimal technical requirements (Choreographers will get a very minimal tech and a lighting wash)

Selected choreographers will need to attend the technical rehearsal on October 13th or October 14th 2010, and be able to present their works on October 13th or 14th or both.

Submissions must be postmarked on or before September 10, 2010. If you wish to have your support material returned to you please include a self-addressed envelope.
